Victorinox AG

On behalf of Victorinox AG, cdesigns Claudia Dargel made the annual product range adjustments to the existing layout of the B2B catalog.

In the process, the InDesign files, graphics and images were adapted taking into account all corporate design elements and the document was optimally prepared for printing and as an interactive PDF for digital use.

Brand
Founded in 1884 as a cutlery company, Victorinox is today an independent family-owned company that operates worldwide with five product categories: Swiss Army Knives, household and professional knives, watches, luggage and perfumes. The Swiss Army Knife is considered the core product and leads the way in the development of all product categories.

Target
The B2B catalog serves as a working tool for the entire market and is published both in printed form and as an animated PDF. A comprehensive range overview with the most complete information possible, easy to navigate.

To ensure consistent formatting of the products throughout the document and to be able to efficiently make assortment adjustments in the following year, all products were formatted in InDesign using tables and style sheets wherever possible. This allows column and row sizes to be maintained consistently. A practical example of this is that when a new product range is introduced, the products on all subsequent pages are automatically moved forward. This saves time and effort.

Interactive PDF
Hyperlinks have been added to the layout to allow easy navigation. This allows users to jump within the document, to other documents and to websites. A practical example is the direct link from the table of contents to the corresponding product page.
